Novedad 1-Después de 27 días a a una temperatura constante de 100°F o un poco más ¡por fin llovió! Ya se me había olvidado el sonido de la lluvia y su olor. Esas dos noches pude dormir tranquila, despertándome a momentos porque los señores rayos estaban algo furiosos de regresar a trabajar. La lluvia ayudó a controlar los incendios forestales que estaban en la zona :)

Novedad 2- El acontecimiento de la televisión americana sucedió. Comenzó la nueva temporada de Two and a half men con el nuevo integrente Ashton Kutcher.

Novedad 3- Necesita que vayan por ella, porque no puede cruzar la calle. Tuvieron que ir por ella de la manita a la edad de 20 años, porque según ella tiene una enfermedad que le da pánico cruzar la calle...Pero no le da pánico para cruzar hacia las hamburgesas, según ella esa calle es diferente...se vale reir jajajaja. ¡Es una de las cosas más estúpidas que he escuchado!

Novedad 4- Es oficial, soy alérgica a mi antojo prohibido...el yogurth y además subi de peso. No me gusta ésta novedad.

Novedad 5- ya se me olvidó, ¡que novedad!

Una mañana Amirena decidió que necesitaba un cambio. Buscó entre su ropa interior, al fondo del cajón y encontró el tesoro que le había dejado su abuela. Decidida fué a la joyeria del tío de Nicolás, quien era un hombre sabio y honesto. Quería tanto a Amirena que le dió un buen precio. De regreso a casa en una tetera en lo alto del gabinete de la cocina, sacó los euros que había cambiado y ahorrado durante mucho tiempo. Con lo que había ganado la semana pasada pagaría la renta del departamento, asi que no debía nada a nadie. Compró su boleto de avión en línea, porque se le hacía más práctico de esa forma y sabía que encontraría un mejor precio. Hizo los arreglos sufientes para llevarse a Micaelo, el perro. Esa misma tarde hizo la maleta. Solo metió la ropa que realmente le gustaba, la demás la fué a llevar a un centro de donación para mujeres golpeadas. De paso fue a llevarle la renta a Don Martín quien trató de convencerla de que lo que hacía era una locura, pero Don Martín era un hombre muy conservador asi que Amirena no le tomó mucha importancia. Amirena tenía todo listo para su partida, mochila, pasaporte, boleto de avión, maleta, la caseta para Micaelo y dinero.
A la mañana siguiente partió a su destino, a su nuevo intento de vida, a su cambio. Abordó el avión y al despegar solo cerró los ojos, no quería volver a ver como se alejaba de lo que antes había sido parte de su vida. Cuando llegó a su destino lo primero que tuvo que hacer fue comprar agua para Micaelo, el pobre estaba sediento dentro de esa caseta. Lo complicado fué que Amirena no sabía el idioma de ese país, así que tuvo que caminar entre multitudes y por varias terminales hasta encontrar un sitio de información y que de ahí le pudieran decir donde podía comprar una botella de agua. Con Micaelo contento y fuera de la caseta, ella podía seguir con su camino. Con gesto y señas pudo comprar un boleto de autobús para que la llevara a la pequeña ciudad que se encontraba a 2 horas de la gran urbe.
Durante esas horas Amirena observó por la ventana hasta quedarse dormida. Al llegar a la terminal de autobuses, se dió cuenta que tenía que tomar el transporte público para llegar a la dirección que le habían dado. Las rutas eran demasiado complicadas y ella no tenía ni idea de para donde ir. Así que en la parada detuvo camión por camión enseñandoles a los conductores la dirección y si alguno de esos la dejaba, el cuarto fué el bueno. Después de 45 min. aproximados de trayecto llegó a su destino. El camión pasaba justo enfrente de la casa y Amirena bajó con su maleta, su mochila, la caseta de Micaelo y por supuesto al buen Micaelo.
Tocó el timbre un par de veces, pero nadie abrió. No le sorprendió mucho, ella sabía que el ser viviente de esa casa estaría en la biblioteca haciendo sus investigaciones. Así que decidió esperar, No tenía prisa. Se sentó en la caseta de Micaelo y él solo se durmió. Pasaron varios camiones, uno tras otro. Comenzó a bajar la temperatura y con ello unas gotas de lluvia se dejaron caer. Amirena pensó en llamarle pero si lo hacía no sería sorpresa. Pensó en irse a un hotel y regresar a la mañana siguiente. Lo pensó. Lo volvió a pensar y decidió que sería lo más inteligente después de 3 horas de espera. Estaba recogiendo sus cosas, cuando un camión se detuvo frente a la casa. El ser viviente había llegado.

Beyonce Knowles has her fourth production originally titled “4”. The reason why she called like this is still not known well. Some sources said that is her favorite number and others say that is just ego and that she is trying to copy big bands like Led Zepellin, in which their fourth album was the one that memorialized them as a great band. Is she trying to do the same thing? We don’t know that for the moment, but her fans are her best judges. I have to admit that I am not a super fan of her or her music, but I have to admit two things about her: she has a pair of legs that most of us (girls) wish to have and her voice is special.

Some critics said that the songs of this album are inspired in Beyonce’s past. I can’t make a statement like this because I really don’t know anything about her emotional past, but what I can say is that I found this album like a roller coaster - ups and downs- of emotions. Starting with “1+1” a very sexy song in where passion, the union and the compromise are the main character. While in “I Care” seems like a painful song where instead of sweat of passion there are tears of pain. The responsible of her pain doesn’t care about, but she still interested in saving the relationship even if is not working. Women. In “I miss you” like the title says, there is something missing or better say someone is missing and she is affected for it and she needs that person. The song “Best Thing I Never Had” reminds when once in our lives we have idealize someone and say “I thought that you did everything right no lies no wrong” as her song says, but at one point or another we open our eyes and see the real person. Probably we feel disappointed but at the end it makes us feel stronger.

Now, here comes a thumb down song, “Party”. As a fun word we expect a entertaining song…well is not. The voices at the time they say "like to party" are slow and lazy, Andre 3000 is who saves the song. ”Rather die young” is a song of necessity of being with someone. The chorus is smooth and the section between the second and third chorus is powerful and rich. Beyonce’s voice come from her deep soul, being completely honest with what does she feel. In “Start Over” her voice comes from the down pitch to up tones, convincing us that everyone deserves another chance in relationships and we can “Love on top” being in love again. In this song his love is in the same track as her, by saying “and finally you put me first” convincing herself of his love. The music sounds like 80’s and after a couple of minutes it turns a little bit tedious.

This album is basically of love, indifference and expectations of that love. At these point of the “Countdown” Beyonce shows her strength in the relationship putting herself as equal; a fighter who really deserves to be loved. She shows her role and place in the relationship making him clear that he is crazy is he leaves her. I think this is a turn point of the album. With “End of Time” the music merges with her voice nicely but the song sounds repetitive. One of the lasts songs “I was here” has more content and emotion, it sounds kind of sad because is like a farewell. But Beyonce’s voice sounds deeper and heart touched, her voice is enjoyable. The last song and most popular song “Run the World (Girls)” closes the album. This song pops out from the whole album, showing who has the power and who the boss is.

Texas Wildfires

Yesterday afternoon I was driving on 290 towards Austin and I saw a huge brown cloud. At the moment I just thought that was an effect of the sun but seconds later I realized that it was not a cloud... it was smoke! All that smoke came from the wildfire that is occurring in the Lone Star State.

The Texas wildfires are not a joke. Is a real situation that is going on right now, a few miles from us. Just to imagine all the people that has been evacuated from their houses, which cannot go to work and some of them are losing their homes stressed me out. Another scary issue is the people that make their living from their land. A friend of mine has a ranch and because of the hot weather that is hitting our state and the smokey air his cattle is getting sick. And like my friend there are thousands of farmers that are suffering nowadays. This situation is not only affecting the environment, the economy as well.

Probably Smokey Bear is what first comes to the mind of many people when they think in fire, but this time is getting more serious than a simple fire. We must remember that a wildfire in basic words is a rapidly spreading of intense and uncontrolled fire. What was the cause of the Texas wildfires this year? Probably it was caused by irresponsible people who are not careful at the time they do campfires, leaving unattended a burning cigarette or they just don't listen to the drought warnings. We need to be aware that something small -a cigarette or spark- can have a great impact. Another huge possibility is the hot weather that is hitting Texas for the past months and just a few drops of rain had visit Texas soil , also the last weekend winds were not very helpful to stop spreading the fire.

The Texas wildfires are having a great impact in the County's of Montgomery, Waller and Grimes where around 8,000 acres have been destroyed. According to some officials at least 5,000 acres have burned in Montgomery County, 3,000 acres in Waller County and about 300 acres have burned in Grimes County. And in some percentage the fire was not contained completely. According to Los Angeles Times some help has being sent from California to Texas where the Forest Service has sent 765 fire personnel and equipment including 46 engines, 9 hand crews, 5 bulldozers and 7 water tender and a DC-10 jetliner. This jet is capable of dropping 12,000 gallons of fire retardant, but it cannot be used because the officials couldn't find a person that is prepared to control the jet, which personally I think is ridiculous. Why bring or borrow equipment that the Texan pilots cannot manage, when California is a state that has a lot of wildfires too...? so basically we are taking another state equipment, which is going to be useless to us, making Texas wildfires not only an issue for residents of our state, but also for residents of the west coast.

Meanwhile, Texas is burning. Destroying hundreds of homes and thousands of acres, affecting state budget, wildlife, family incomes, environment and of course our lungs.

Carta en avión

Te veo caminar por el laberinto que tiene como destino las jaulas de seguridad. Hay gente de todos colores, pero solo busco tu cabeza, tu cara ¡Háganse a un lado que no puedo ver! quisiera gritarles, pero no lo hago. Solo te veo en silencio; moviéndome constantemente para encontrar un espacio y no perderte de vista. Volteas de vez en cuando, no se si para despedirte o para cerciorarte que sigo ahí, que no te he dejado.
Te pierdes entre todas las cabezas que se mueven rápidas y desesperadas. Creo que ya te has ido. Doy media vuelta y regreso por donde hemos venido. Ha sido el regreso más solitario que he tenido. De la nada me encuentro dentro del auto llorando cual María Magdalena.
Horas después me entero que has llegado con bien a tu destino y de que me has visto dar media vuelta y marchar ¡Aún no te habías ido, seguías ahí! Fué mi error lo siento. Ambos partimos.

De vuelta

Ya estoy de retache, lamento haber estado ausente.
Durante un tiempo estaré escribiendo en el "lenguaje universal" dado a una actividad escolar. Digo igual chicle y pega y tenemos más lectores. Así que porfavor, si leen algún post dejen su comment vale? Se los agradezco.
